(Central News Agency, 2024-09-19 11:12:49) The College of Circular Economy at National Chung Hsing University and CH Biotech R&D Co., LTD co-hosted the “Taiwan Biostimulant Forum” on September 18 at the CHB International Conference Hall. Special guest speaker Patrick H. Brown, Distinguished Professor from the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of California, Davis, was invited to give a lecture, attracting over 170 attendees.
Vice President of Chung Hsing University, Professor Chen Chuan-Mu, delivered the opening remarks, stating that biostimulants represent an emerging field of technology, playing an increasingly important role in agriculture and environmental sectors in recent years. He expressed hope that the forum and the establishment of the institute will further promote industry-academia collaboration and strengthen Taiwan’s leading position in the biostimulant industry. This, in turn, would make significant contributions to the sustainability of Taiwan’s agricultural ecosystem and environmental development.
Distinguished Professor Patrick Brown is a leading figure in the field of plant nutrition, having made numerous innovative contributions, particularly in biostimulants and plant nutrition. His keynote speech, titled “Global Overview of Biostimulants: Implementation Challenges and Regulations,” provided the audience with fresh insights and inspiration, offering them valuable knowledge.
In addition, the forum also featured presentations from domestic experts and scholars, including Professor Lu Hu-Sheng, Honorary Professor from the Department of Agronomy at National Taiwan University; Professor Lin Shih-Shun from the Graduate Institute of Biotechnology; Distinguished Professor Huang Hao-Jen from the Department of Life Sciences at National Cheng Kung University; and Professor Hung Cheng-Fang from the Department of Plant Pathology at Chung Hsing University.
