Phytotron and Greenhouse

  • Phytotron
In order to simulate various climatic conditions and ensure the adaptability of products under the global changing planting conditions, ten intelligent phytotrons that can adjust environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, luminosity and photoperiod are built. The features are as follows:
  • To cultivate and produce standard seedlings as test materials by full environmental control technology.
  • Provide high temperature, low temperature, drought, ultraviolet and other abiotic stress test cultivation rooms.
  • According to the product efficacy test design, it can meet the cultivation needs of test materials at various stages from seed, growth and development, flowering to fruit.
  • The dedicated time-lapse photography cultivation room can track and record the growth and development process of the test materials at all times. With the growth and development model software, a big database of growth information can be obtained.
  • Greenhouse
Our world-class greenhouse, located behind the headquarters building that also accommodates our global research center, resembles two flying butterflies from the aerial view, an architecture design that aptly describes its purpose. Tailor-made for CH Biotech by a Dutch greenhouse manufacturer, the greenhouse for efficacy trials is built by using steel, aluminum, and a wide range of equipment imported from the Netherlands. It is a greenhouse with unrivaled specifications in Taiwan.
The design incorporates a series of conditions specific to a given target area, including weather conditions, geologic factors, crop types, and research needs. This allows all the necessary tests to be carried out before a product is introduced from a phytotron to a given field. Among the greenhouse’s features are:
  • It simulates the natural environment;
  • It offers a high-spec enclosed space for crop disease research;
  • It combines diffusing glass panels and LED sources to ensure lighting all year round;
  • It is well equipped with an automatic sprinkler system, a water conservation and wastewater treatment, and a smart environmental control system;
  • It develops a diversified set of growing techniques, including hanging, aeroponics, hydroponics, pot planting, and direct soil planting, to fit the crop type and the purpose of an experiment.

Our goal is to integrate greenhouse, agrochemical production, biotech experts and resources of technical service, aiming to induce the maximum growth potential of crop plants. We establish a small-scale planting platform for precision agriculture and conceive to build exclusive special greenhouses catering to various crop characteristics. According to different growth stages, we use the most suitable agricultural materials which depend on the resource capacity and cost-effectiveness of the target sites. We comprehensively regulate environmental factors such as light, humidity, temperature, carbon dioxide and soil temperature during the time the crop grows. We optimize the growth energy of crops and accumulate this at the most economically valuable parts in order to produce high-end agricultural products with the highest quality and most affordable price.
